ABOUT US
Founded in April 2024 by Fiona Scrimshaw, Orewa Volleyball Club began as a way to keep local youth playing after school competitions ended. It quickly grew into a vibrant 12-team social league welcoming players of all ages and skill levels in a fun, inclusive environment.
In 2025, recognising the need for more competitive volleyball teams on the Hibiscus Coast, she launched Coast Storm—a men’s open-grade club team, now competing in the Volleyball Northern Zone Club Volleyball League and aiming for the National Club Championships.
Fiona Scrimshaw first played indoor volleyball for North Harbour for about 20 years. Discovering Beach Volleyball in the infancy of the sport in the 90's, she fell in love with the sand variety, representing New Zealand internationally. She coached beach volleyball for the VNZ youth programmes since 2009, as well as Secondary School indoor volleyball at various times.
